Five political parties adopt AA gov candidate in Gombe

No fewer than five political parties in Gombe State on Wednesday adopted the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, Brigadier General Nuhu Miller.

The development followed the forthcoming governorship and House of Assembly election scheduled for March 18.

The parties involved are African Action Congress, Allied Peoples Movement, Action Peoples Party, All Progressives Grand Alliance, and Accord Party.

Addressing journalists, the Chairman of APGA, Mohammed Doho, said the parties agreed to form an alliance with the candidate of AA following his track record.

According to Doho, the alliance was geared towards rescuing the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress.

He said, “The leadership of our various political parties have given a directive that they should work together with the AA governorship candidate in the interest of good governance.

“Brig. Gen. Nuhu Miller is the best choice for the state, after consultation with various stakeholders of their parties.”

In his response, Miller lauded the support of the political parties, adding that his administration would alleviate the sufferings of the residents of the state.

“The people have worked for it. Therefore, they will be paid. Within Gombe State they are crying, the hardship is enormous and many are crying. The current administration is very dictatorial in nature and the people can’t wait to be rescued,” he said.

Also, the Chairman of AA, Auwal Ibrahim, commended the support of the other parties.

He expressed optimism that AA would defeat the incumbent government to emerge victorious

“We will not tolerate any rigging as we have heard that some people are working to rig the election, victory is ours,” Ibrahim said.
