An Ondo State resident, Sunday Chima, on Sunday, asked Nigerians to come to his aid for his son, Victor, who is battling health challenges.
He said his son, who is a Junior Secondary School student, had been battling pain and neck swelling since 2020.
Chima, who resides in Ijare, Ifedora Local Government Area, Ondo State, explained that the family had tried their best and used all their savings to ensure their 10-year-old son is healed without luck.
The concerned father, while speaking to our correspondent on Sunday, said the health challenges started in September 2020.
He said, “It started in September 2020. His mother informed me that he was complaining of discomfort and general pains before the neck started swelling.
“We have been to different hospitals across the state, even the one in Idanre. After that, we were asked to also try traditionalists and herbs. The one (traditionalist) we tried used herbs and some substances for Victor without any improvement.”
Chima, who hails from Abia State, added that after trying the traditionalist, they had to return to the hospital to run a series of tests and it was confirmed that Victor would have to undergo surgery.
He explained that the surgery would cost N600,000 and the family had no means of getting the required amount for the exercise.
Meanwhile, the report was signed by a consultant radiologist, Dr. Kenneth, on Victor’s test result, read, “There is a large pedunculated soft tissue mass involving the neck cavities and the maxilla with the destruction of the interior wall.
“Clinical history: Mass on the head was noted about two years ago. It was small and gradually increased in size within some months.
“There is complete opacification of the neck and the ethmoidal, sphenoid, and maxillary sinuses.”
Chima, however, called on Nigerians to support his family in raising the amount for Victor’s surgery.
