The Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspected criminals, referred to locally as Kauraye, for breaking into a shop and stealing 48 mobile phones.
The Katsina State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Gambo Isah, disclosed this on Friday.
Isah disclosed that the two suspects, Abubakar Haruna, 23, and Ibrahim Sani, 22, were arrested in Katsina on Wednesday for stealing 48 mobile phones from a mobile phone dealer’s shop at Tsohuwar Tasha, Katsina.
The suspects, he said, were apprehended based on credible intelligence, alleging that they conspired with another suspect, Tayi, who is currently at large. The suspects, he said, have confessed to the crime, adding that they revealed they planned to sell the phones in a neighboring country.
The officer said the police are still in pursuit of the other suspects and will ensure all those involved are apprehended and prosecuted.
